PROJECTS THROUGH THE FISHERIES ENHANCEMENT FUND
Since 2007, Fish Futures has received over $435,000 in funding through the Fisheries Enhancement Fund for the following project work:
- $136,040 to hire a consultant to conduct a lower Red River creel survey (2007)
- $9,000 to create a children’s book about fish and fishing (2007)
- $18,770 to print and distribute free copies of Get Hooked on Fishing (2007)
- $25,000 to hire a Provincial Youth Angling Coordinator (2008
- )$6,800 to complete the lower Red River creel survey (2008)
- $9,000 to provide angling opportunities for kids in northern Manitoba (2008)
- $5,000 to create a website to promote fishing to Manitoba youth (2008)
- $20,000 to host conferences to discuss youth angling initiatives (2008)
- $9,750 to administer the Youth Angling Card and artwork contest (2008)
- $25,000 to hire a Provincial Youth Angling Coordinator (2008)
- $20,000 to print and distribute free copies of Catch that Catfish! and Hope and the Walleye (2008)
- $12,800 to provide angling opportunities for kids in northern Manitoba (2009)
- $50,000 to hire a Provincial Youth Angling Coordinator (2009)
- $24,000 to purchase rods and reels for Fish Winnipeg participants (2009
- )$25,000 to establish the Gear Up program (2009)
- $24,000 to visit schools and promote fishing (2009)
- $17,250 to administer the Youth Angling Card and Artwork Contest (2010)
