DR. KEN STEWART MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP in Aquatic Biology and Conservation
Since 1998, Fish Futures has awarded graduate students funding towards their research in aquatic biology. Studies include: the effects of climate change on boreal lake trout populations, a radio transmitter tagging program on the Assiniboine River, the effects of carp feeding on water quality, and a study of exotic blue-green algae found in lakes in the Whiteshell Park. Thanks to the generous support of the Great Plains Fishery Workers Association, Fish Futures will award additional scholarships in the next couple of years if there are suitable applications.
